QA Manager

Department:  Quality Assurance
Location(s):  Tazewell, TN

Responsibilities:  Serves as Management Representative with responsibility to ensure that the quality system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the applicable standards. Interacts with all internal DeRoyal departments regarding various requirements with the Quality System. Audits production facilities to ensure compliance with applicable standards: ISO, QSR, MDD, Canadian Requirements & GMPs. Participates in corporate directed internal audits as part of audit team. Ensures corrective and preventive actions for internal and external audit findings are implemented. Conducts corrective and preventive action meetings at plants. Prepares and presents information for the meetings. Reviews and evaluates complaint reports and investigation process for the complaint. Communicates with customer and/or sales representative regarding corrective and preventive actions taken on reported complaints. Works with Regulatory Affairs on Vendor and DeRoyal initiated recalls to determine products affected, customers affected and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Conducts training on Quality System procedures and tasks. Conducts DeRoyal New Hire training on Complaint Handling and QA/RA Department personnel. Works closely with Plant Management and Quality Control staff to ensure Quality System is effective and implemented. Manages the document control for the applicable division and/or plants. Develops procedures and ensures compliance necessary for Quality System for compliance with applicable standards and regulations for the appropriate divisions. Conducts Management Review meetings for divisional level reviews. Participates in Design Control Review meetings. Works with Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Supply Chain Management & Plant Management on development of new products or changing of existing products (including research on testing, raw materials, use of product, applicable regulations, etc.) Ensures that necessary validations are conducted on new products and significant changes to products as appropriate. Develops test methods as required and ensures necessary testing is completed: Bioburden, sterility, residual, environmental, package integrity, etc. Analyzes statistical data on topics of interest.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university required, or minimum 8 years minimum relevant experience required. Ability to speak Spanish a plus. This position will require travel.

Responsibilities:  Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone. Displays or demonstrates products, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. AI Fabrication Technician

Responsibilities:  Peform various duties to ensure and promote the efficient and productive functioning of the manufacturing facility. This position is considered part time. Average of 29 hours or less per week. Fabricate custom and prefabricated spinal braces. Fabrication duties include: Drape forming polyethylene over spinal molds, drawing to spinal order forms, cutting, grinding, and assembling spinal orthoses. Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of die cutting, sewing machines, compressors, vacuums and other related production or facility equipment.

Regulatory Specialist

Responsibilities:  Some responsibilities include: • Helping to ensure the Company’s compliance to regulatory requirements for both domestic and international markets. • Evaluating new medical device products and suggests changes to existing products to assist design team in meeting any regulatory requirements. • Developing and maintaining pre-market approval documentation for new devices and modifications of existing devices. • Investigating product system complaints and, if necessary, creating and submitting reports to regulatory agencies (FDA, Competent Authorities, etc.) within required time frame. • Assists in the creation and maintenance of regulatory facility registrations, device listings and any other licenses or required regulatory documents for all divisions. • Researches and keeps abreast of domestic and international regulatory issues related to the industry such as new standards, revised regulations, etc. and keeps relevant departments informed.

Requirements:  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years experience working in a regulatory capacity. Must be knowledgeable with all applicable sections of the 21 CFR, 510(k) submissions, and MDR reporting and other domestic and international regulatory issues.

Sr. Project Engineer

Uses appropriate tools (stress analysis, FEA, etc.), to verify the integrity of designs • Is capable of both creative and detail-oriented design work; able to balance high thresholds of quality and timely project completion based on requirements • Monitors trends in engineering technology and assists with recommendations that will help us to maintain our technical edge • Organized. Must plan and execute multiple concurrent assignments and complete tasks at an aggressive pace • Familiar with human anatomy from an orthopedic perspective • Advanced understating of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of implantable devices

Requirements:  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, MS preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in development of orthopedic implants, preferably trauma products. • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to correspond with customers, vendors, or members of the business community. • Ability to effectively present information (orally and in writing) to management, customers, clients, and the general public. • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and theory such as geometry, statistics, algebra, calculus, and differential equations to address engineering issues. • Ability to operate standard office equipment including a photo-copier and fax machine • Basic Proficiency using a personal computer and Office software • Self-starter with ability to manage projects with limited oversight
