Material Handler III

Department:  DeRoyal Distribution Center
Location(s):  New Tazewell, TN
Shift:  1st Shift (MON-FRI) 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:  Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard or work site. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Operates forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, record shortages.Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard or work site. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Operates forklift (if assigned) to assist in loading and unloading.

Requirements:  High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift experience is a plus.

Regulatory Specialist

Department:  Regulatory Affairs
Location(s):  Powell, TN

Responsibilities:  Some responsibilities include: • Helping to ensure the Company’s compliance to regulatory requirements for both domestic and international markets. • Evaluating new medical device products and suggests changes to existing products to assist design team in meeting any regulatory requirements. • Developing and maintaining pre-market approval documentation for new devices and modifications of existing devices. • Investigating product system complaints and, if necessary, creating and submitting reports to regulatory agencies (FDA, Competent Authorities, etc.) within required time frame. • Assists in the creation and maintenance of regulatory facility registrations, device listings and any other licenses or required regulatory documents for all divisions. • Researches and keeps abreast of domestic and international regulatory issues related to the industry such as new standards, revised regulations, etc. and keeps relevant departments informed.

Requirements:  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years experience working in a regulatory capacity. Must be knowledgeable with all applicable sections of the 21 CFR, 510(k) submissions, and MDR reporting and other domestic and international regulatory issues.

Sr. Project Engineer

Responsibilities:  o CAD part/assembly design, SolidWorks preferred o Implant, Instrument, and Case/Tray Design o Intellectual property research o Prototyping o Mechanical testing o Design control documentation o Manufacturing Support o Supporting regulatory submissions (FDA and International) o Quality Support • Drives development efforts from conception thru prototyping and production with limited amount of management interaction and guidance • Creates detailed engineering drawings based on appropriate design rationale, project inputs, and “design for manufacturability” principles • Generates unique, creative concepts that are innovative and technically sound solutions to challenging design problems • Leads out in creating, writing, and executing technically sound test protocols and reports. • Prepares clear and technically correct design documents based on procedures and documentation conventions • Demonstrates understanding of, or learns about, anatomy and basic biomechanics, as applicable to assigned projects • Able to write defendable rationale for changes to existing products (Class I and II) • Leads new product development teams and product launch teams to facilitate the introduction of new products • Participates in technical discussions on the merits of designs as they relate to implants • Has an advanced understanding of design analysis. Uses appropriate tools (stress analysis, FEA, etc.), to verify the integrity of designs • Is capable of both creative and detail-oriented design work; able to balance high thresholds of quality and timely project completion based on requirements • Monitors trends in engineering technology and assists with recommendations that will help us to maintain our technical edge • Organized. Must plan and execute multiple concurrent assignments and complete tasks at an aggressive pace • Familiar with human anatomy from an orthopedic perspective • Advanced understating of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of implantable devices

Requirements:  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, MS preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in development of orthopedic implants, preferably trauma products. • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to correspond with customers, vendors, or members of the business community. • Ability to effectively present information (orally and in writing) to management, customers, clients, and the general public. • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and theory such as geometry, statistics, algebra, calculus, and differential equations to address engineering issues. • Ability to operate standard office equipment including a photo-copier and fax machine • Basic Proficiency using a personal computer and Office software • Self-starter with ability to manage projects with limited oversight
