Machine Operator

Department:  DeRoyal Processing Center
Location(s):  New Tazewell, TN
Shift:  1st shift (MON-FRI) 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:  Complete assembly process and initial packaging. Read and follow oral and/or written directions; program machines accurately with required data. Complete paperwork concerning units assembled or packaged. Position parts according to knowledge of units being assembled. Check quantities, lengths, colors and material types against documentation; record discrepancies. Isolate defective goods and returns for rework or correct parts. Examine finished product to ensure that it meets quality standards. Conduct operations in accordance with safety requirements.

Requirements:  High School diploma or equivalent (GED); or less than high school education with one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Material Handler IV

Department:  DeRoyal Distribution Center

Shift:  3rd Shift (SUN - THURS) 9:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.

Responsibilities:  Perform lead duties for Supervisor in his/her absence or as needed. Construct product shipment manifest using computerized process. Load, unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand; load and unload parcels and pallets to/from trailers. Trace product shipments through inter-company and other supplied systems. Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas with proper equipment. Use inventory control techniques in the required manner. Count freight for accuracy; check for damage or infestation. Operated material handling equipment safely and efficiently; operate computerized order processing device and mechanical packaging equipment. Operate forklift or pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Is familiar with product assembly and performs labels, sorting, packing, wrapping, and repacking.

Requirements:  High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with six months to one year related experience and/or training; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Product Manager

Department:  Wound Care Marketing
Location(s):  Powell, TN

Responsibilities:  Marketing managers will be responsible for all aspects of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Coordinates PLM from initial idea phase to feasibility phase, design control and product launch. Researches, reviews and presents business plan, market intelligence, competitor analysis, 3-5 year forecasting and ROI to the marketing leadership team or other teams as directed. Provide strategic customer data from current DeRoyal customers and create strategic marketing concepts to attract new and potential customers. Responsible for creating product demand in selected markets which will generate a rise in company’s sales and profitability. Administrates price, product, promotional and place aspects of the marketing plan as appropriate and reasonable. Keep and maintain monthly Key Performance Indicators for individual market share and sales data Able to navigate and pull data from the following software applications: GHX, MicroStrategy, Salesforce.com, JDEdwards. Test market new products. Assists with new product development and launches within a select group. Teaches and otherwise communicates the details of the DeRoyal marketing program to new sales employees. Provides telephone and field support as necessary to support the marketing plan. Co-travels with DeRoyal sales representative.

Requirements:  Bachelor`s degree (B. A./B. S.) required and minimum three years medical marketing experience; or three years working in DeRoyal salesforce; or MBA ; or combination of education and/or equivalent work experience. Experience working within the Negative Pressure Wound Therapy arena, or Lymphedema space required. Like industry experience will also be considered.

Electro-polisher Operator

Department:  DeRoyal Implants
Location(s):  Powell TN
Shift:  2nd Shift (MON-THURS) 3:30 p.m. 1:30 a.m.

Responsibilities:  Responsible for the proper operations and maintenance of electro-polishing equipment. Runs Electro-Polishing equipment to smooth and brighten metal surfaces by making it anodic in the appropriate solution. Checks dimensions of parts to ensure parts are running to blueprints specifications. Reads blueprints. Maintains the equipment and appropriate solution levels and specific gravity used in the Electro-polish process. Uses buffing wheels to buff and polish parts. Ensures the equipment is kept clean and follows maintenance schedule.

CNC Machinist

Department:  DeRoyal Implants
Location(s):  Powell, TN
Shift:  2nd shift 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Monday thru Thursday

Responsibilities:  Review blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Create machine set-up sheets. Works with machine tools and dimensional inspection tools. Fixture raw work piece to machine material or work piece per manufacturing drawing and specifications. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, loads cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, and in some cases manual lathes, and grinders. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Must be able to make machine offsets to correct machine parameters or correct part deviations from out of tolerance parts. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and work closely with Quality personnel. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Works closely with Quality personnel to ensure First Article is performed before starting production run. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly; verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Requirements:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience from technical school. Three to five years of job shop machinist experience preferred. Proficiency in the operation of CNC Milling machines and lathes. Must be familiar with Mazatrol, Feature Cam or Master Cam. CAD/CAM experience is a plus.

Inventory Control Spec

Department:  DeRoyal Trauma
Location(s):  Powell, TN
Shift:  Monday - Friday (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

Responsibilities:  Implements, monitors and maintains cycle count program of raw materials. Analyze pulling efficiencies/discrepancies to monitor inventory accuracy. Works with corporate departments on questions regarding inventory transactions. Works with Buyer and Q.C. on vendor returns. Maintains all warehouse locations in database and coordinates relocation of products. Works with other divisions on intercompany transfers of materials and item verification. Monitors number of defective products from production area in report form. Research inventory discrepancies and analyze cause/effect relationships to solve problems. Processes all shipments of raw materials and finished goods. Monitors levels of production supplies and coordinates restock with Buyer. Works with Manufacturing Management on the flow of materials through manufacturing facility. Aids Quality Control with engineering change orders for raw materials.

Requirements:  One year certificate from college or technical school with 6 months to 1 year related experience; or high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:  • Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products • Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer • Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection including but not limited to Design/Process FMEA and Process Verification/Validation. • Develops, promotes, and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports • Completes Inspection Plans in conjunction with Project Planning and in coordination with Project Management • Performs in process and final inspections on customer ordered projects as necessary • Develops, executes and analyzes quality-reporting measures • Works with Quality Assurance group to initiate, organize, and monitor Corrective Actions, assists to evaluate and determine Root Cause and Corrective Action Plans • Reports to management and customers on quality issues, trends and losses, utilizing SPC, Pareto charts, etc. • Maintains an understanding of applicable ISO, ASTM and similar quality and process standards; explains same to an audience of varying degrees of exposure to these standards • Participates in internal and external quality audits • Initiates Non-Conformance Reports while ensuring accuracy of data and the process, including closure

Requirements:  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent (or Associate’s degree in these fields plus minimum 7 years industrial experience). • Must have broad knowledge and extensive application of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control, of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation. • Must have proven positive leadership, mentoring and trainer experience. • Must have strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases. • Lean Manufacturing experience, including six sigma, 5S and Kaizen experience highly desired.

Swiss Turning Operator

Responsibilities:  Is responsible for setting up and operating CNC special purpose turning machines.When applicable, manages other turning centers or staff members associated with the operations of Swiss Turning Machines. Reading engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Has the ability to read and understand geometric tolerance and all drawing requirements. Downlads control programs into individual turning machines and perform test operations to guarantee the machine properly creates the precise part. Fixing, servicing, aligning, setting up, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.

Requirements:  Must be able to perform all phases of Lathe work such as I.D. and O.D. turning, threading, boring internal threads, and taper attachment set up and operation, including calculation of angles (degrees per foot). Must possess the ability to set up 3-4-6 jaw chucks and collet head assemblies. Must be able to perform tail stock alignment to head. Must be able to calculate and figure thread depths and pitches, V-threads, buttress, square, etc. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 10 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC machining experience preferred.

Account Executive - Implants

Department:  Implant Sales
Location(s):  Raleigh, NC

Responsibilities:  Analyze geographic territory to develop lists of prospective hospitals, surgery centers, distributors, and doctors for use as sales leads. Work with sales leadership to analyze territories and develop sales strategies. Comunicates with sales team regarding Implant strategies. Will have specific account responsibility in key and specially assigned facilities as determined by sales leadership. Conduct customer in-services on Implants and other DeRoyal products, as determined by sales leadership. Presents implant sets to clinicians and demonstrates a working knowledge of each product within the set. Assist in the OR during surgery by answering physician questions, and verbally demonstrating surgical technique. Deliver sets, replenishment parts, re-stock sets, and place purchase orders, as needed, for customers. Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained. Perform and manage follow-up calls after surgery to resolve any open issues and/or gather feedback from surgeon or staff on use of the product. Maintain awareness of competitors product and marketing activities. Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed. Works as a liaison between customers and marketing, Providing formal communication of customer needs to key personnel to ensure the continual improvement of existing product and developing new products. Effectively manages set inventory and location to ensure product is utilized and, or, returned in a timely manner. Obey all regulatory and legal requirements for medical devices, including, but not limited to all anti-kickback laws. Develop and possess knowledge of hospital structures and the required steps for hospital approvals.

Requirements:  Qualified candidates should have prior implant sales experience, working knowledge of human anatomy, and OR experience. To qualify, you must have a BS degree, a willingness to travel, and a professional attitude and appearance. Computer experience and the ability to produce Excel spreadsheets, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, and a working knowledge of the Internet required.
