DeRoyal's
new East Tennessee plaster and
fiberglass cast manufacturing
operation produces high-tech plaster
and synthetic splinting systems with
end-product usage ranging from hobby
shops to hospital emergency rooms to
orthopedic splinting.

As
bulk rolls of gauze are pulled through a ninety-foot
long custom designed processor, the rolls are
continuously coated with specially formulated gypsum
pastes and exposed to various oven temperatures for
drying. Weight and thickness of the plaster coating
are constantly monitored, and the resulting coated
rolls are then cut and packaged into smaller rolls or
sheets.
DeRoyal
also has the technology to coat moisture-sensitive
materials inside a sealed moisture-controlled
environment, such as synthetic fiberglass casting.
This process also includes the ability to
automatically adjust length, weight, and size of
rolls. Moisture sensitive products are assembled in
our "dry room," a controlled environment
that cycles and removes moisture from the room.
